o ya. it takes place right after AHBL. its the 4th season opener.
Piper stood in the foyer of the Manor and was confused. She saw herself and Prue talking to their innocent. “Hey, people!” she yelled, but they just went on with their conversation. A second later, a gust of wind broke through the doors and swirled into Shax. “Look out!” Piper tried yelling again, but they weren’t listening to her. Prue jumped in front of the innocent, but Shax threw a surge at her and easily tossed her across the room through a glass door. “PRUE!” both Pipers screamed. Then Shax tossed the other Piper right along side her older sister. “NO!” “Piper. Sweetie. Wake up.” Piper woke up and sat straight up in bed, gasping for air. “Another nightmare?” Phoebe asked. Piper, still frightened, finally noticed her younger sister sitting in her bed next to her. Piper slowly nodded in reply to Phoebe’s question. “What happened this time?” There was so much concern in Phoebe’s voice. Piper was glad that she had support through this very difficult time. “Same thing. Me and Prue are standing at the bottom of the stairs talking to the doctor. I’m yelling at us, but we won't listen. Shax goes for the innocent, but…” Piper had some trouble talking about the next part. “I know, honey. You don’t have to say it again.” Leo orbed in. “Piper!” Leo exclaimed as he rushed towards her. “Oh, baby, what happened?” “Another nightmare,” Phoebe answered for her sister. Leo hugged his wife. She leaned into him, trying her best to hold back the deluge of tears just under the surface. “I’m here now. You’re safe,” Leo whispered in her ear. “No one can protect me like Prue did!” Piper said, angrily. She pushed Leo away and walked out of the room. Leo got up to go after her. “Piper, come back.” “Leo,” Leo turned to face his sister-in-law, “just let her go. She needs some time.” “But she needs—“ “Just let her go. I know you want to protect her, and you can, but she needs a lot of alone time right now. It’s hard, I know. Believe me, it’s all I can do to hold myself from running up there too.” Leo sat down on the bed next to Phoebe, and it creaked under his weight. He put an arm around Phoebe’s shoulders. She turned towards him and collapsed into him, exhausted. “You can't stay strong for Piper forever. Sometime, you’ve got to let it out too, you know,” Leo said. “I can't…I…” she burst into tears. “What are we going to do without her?” “Shh…” Leo comforted, stroking her silky hair. “You are both very strong as witches and human beings. You’ll find a way. I promise you.” Phoebe couldn’t say anything else, so she just cried into Leo’s chest.

~Chapter 2~ In the attic, Piper was furious. Stuff was flying everywhere: chairs, chests, books, candles.
“Dammit!” she yelled. “How can ou guys take her away from me?” She was looking towards the ceiling. “Don’t you know that I need her? You guys of ALL people should understand that your precious Charmed Ones can't live without her. If anyone had to die, it should’ve been me! Prue was the best. She was the strongest…” She fell to the ground sobbing. “Please, just let me see her,” she whispered ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Phoebe and Leo heard crashing coming from upstairs.
“Piper!” Phoebe and Leo said as Leo orbed them up to the attic.
The attic was a mess. There was split wood, books, ripped paper, candles, and other junk thrown everywhere. They both looked around for Piper. Phoebe saw her first and slowly made her way to her through the mess.
“d**n!” Leo said.
“What? Phoebe asked without looking back as not to fall in the mess.
“They’re calling.”
“Go. I can handle this. Just don’t be long.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll be as fast as I can.” He orbed out.
Phoebe finally made it to Piper. She was curled in a ball, crying in a corner, and rocking back and forth.
“Piper, sweetie, what happened? Are you okay?”
“Why did they have to take her away from us? From me? I can't…” Piper faded out, holding her sister in a very tight hug.
“You can. It’s hard, and I know it sucks, but I don’t think you have the right to blame the elders. I don’t think they had any say in this,” Phoebe said, trying to calm Piper down, but it wasn’t working too well.
“How the hell do you know?” Piper flung her arms around and a chair blew up.
“What the HELL was that?” Phoebe was shocked.
“I don’t know,” Piper was just as stunned as Phoebe. “Did I do that?”
“I-I think so.” Phoebe grabbed Piper’s hands. “Don’t wave them around when people are around, please!”
“I won't kill anything, or anyone but demons,” Piper reassured Phoebe.
“But you don’t know that. Until you learn how to control it, don’t get too pissed off. I think that’s what set it off.”
Leo orbed in. Piper raised her hands as Phoebe simultaneously pulled them down.
“Put them down,” Phoebe said sternly.
“Okay, mother,” Piper said sarcastically.
“Phoebe, can I talk to you outside for a second?” Leo cautiously asked, not quite sure what he had just interrupted.
“Sure,” Phoebe said as she stood up. “Piper, can you please clean some of this up? And DON’T get angry.”
Piper rolled her eyes.
Phoebe and Leo walked downstairs and into the kitchen.
“Can you make this quick? I need to get back to Piper before she bl…” Phoebe stopped herself.
“Before she what?” Leo was surprised. How did she know already?
“Nothing. Never mind. What did the Elders have to say?” Phoebe quickly said.
Leo looked confused, but shook his head and said. “They’re very worried about Piper. Her powers are growing—“
“No kidding!” Phoebe interrupted, but then quickly said, “Sorry. Go on.”
“And, As you know, your emotions control the power until you work with it for a bit. Since Piper’s on and emotional roller coaster right now, the Elders want to watch her very closely until she gains more control over them.”
“Do they want to get us killed too? Is that their master plan?! How do they expect us to watch over her without getting blown up ourselves?”
Leo reached out and hugged her tightly. “I don’t know Phoebe. But you need to calm down. It’s all going to be all right. I think that we should talk to Piper about it though.”
“Talk to me about what?” Piper asked, entering the kitchen.
“Honey,” Leo said, cautiously taking a step towards her. “The Elders said that your powers are escalating, and according to Phoebe, they were right. They’re very worried.”
“Why? Do they think I’m going to blow up all of frikkin San FRANSISCO?!” she screamed. Both Leo and Phoebe jumped to hold her hands down.
“Calm down, sweetie.” Phoebe said sweetly.
“Why should I? They take Prue away from me and now they’re worried about me? A little late, don’t ya think?”
“Piper, you have to understand. The Elders had nothing to do with Prue’s death. It was her destiny,” Leo tried to explain.
“Oh my God!! I’m tired of this destiny crap!” Phoebe said. Her frustrations were beginning to surface.

Chapter 3
The next morning, the Halliwell Manor was unusually quiet. Everyone was up but in separate rooms. No one had gotten any sleep the night before. This was going to be one of the worst days of their lives. This was the day they had to officially say goodbye to their older sister. The “glue” of the family was gone.
Everyone was ready to go, tissues in hand, when Leo said, “Where’s Piper? I haven’t seen her this morning.”
“The bathroom door was locked a while ago,” Cole said. “She might be in there.”
Phoebe spoke next, “I’ll go check.” With that, she raced up the stairs to find, just as Cole said, the bathroom door locked. She knocked. “Piper? Honey, are you in there?”
“What do you want?” came the voice filled with tears from the other side of the door.
“Can I come in?” Phoebe asked through the door.
“You’re going to force me to come out, and I don’t want to go. I can't.” Phoebe could easily tell she was crying.
“I won't force you to do anything. I’d just rather talk to you face-to-face than through a door.” Phoebe then heard the lock click as Piper unlocked it. Phoebe turned the doorknob and slowly opened the door.
Piper was standing in front of the mirror, staring at herself. Without looking at Phoebe, she said, “How am I supposed to be the older sister? I can't do it. I was never good at protecting you. How am I supposed to now?”
“Sweetie,” Phoebe said as she started stroking Piper’s hair, “no one could protect me. If I remember right, even Prue couldn’t handle me.”
Piper let a little laugh out.
“Piper, you are the most caring, loving, mother person I know, but I don’t need a mommy to watch over me every second anymore. I just need an older, wiser sister and that’s exactly what you are. You’ll do fine, honey.” Phoebe could see that Piper was becoming a little more willing to listen.
“Everyone’s waiting. It’s time to go,” Phoebe said as she held out her hand for Piper to take. Piper took a deep breath and clasped her hand, wet with tears, to Phoebe’s. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Paige Matthews was sitting at her desk at South Bay Social Services. She had a strange feeling to find a newspaper. She decided that she’d see where this took her so she asked, “Anyone know where I can find a newspaper around here?” No one even acknowledged her. “Hello? Did anyone hear me?”
A kid that Paige thought couldn’t be more than eight, scurried up to her with the Bay Mirror in hand. “Here you go, Miss Matthews.”
“Thanks kid,” Paige said as she patted him on the head. She then stared at the newspaper. “What could I possibly have to see in here?” she asked as she started skimming it. There was nothing in there that caught her eye. She thought she might just be going crazy until something made her look in the back again.
“The obituaries? What the…” she saw one that read: “Prue Halliwell. Beloved Sister Prudence Halliwell died on June 26. she is survived by a father and two grieving sisters. Funeral procession will be held July 2 at 2:30 p.m. All are welcome. Prue is loved and will be missed by all who knew her.”
“Wow. She sounds like a great person, but what does that have to do with me?” Paige asked herself.
“July 2” popped out.
“I have to go to a funeral,” Paige said resolutely, looking at her watch.
“Who died?” one of her co-workers asked.
“Honestly? I’m not sure, but will soon find out,” Paige replied, walking out the door.
“Hey! Where are you going?!” her boss yelled, but Paige ignored him and kept walking out the door.

this chapters a little longer. enjoy and tell me what you think. suggestions are always good!
~Chapter 4~
The funeral was just beginning when Paige arrived. The first thing that she noticed when she walked in was how many people were there.
‘Wow. She was loved,’ Paige marveled to herself, as she spotted a seat in the very back. She made here way there, and when she sat down she mumbled, “Now I get to see what the hell I’m doing here.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Piper didn’t know if she could stand it any longer. She was very close to running out of the church. She thought that she looked like a baby crying so much in front of all these people, but Leo was there. He was her rock. She could lean on him when she needed anything, and she was very thankful for that.
For Phoebe, this was the only time she could show her emotions. There was no reason to be strong for her older sister at the funeral, and she took full advantage of that fact. She had Cole. Cole was…there were so many words to describe Cole, and thus far, Phoebe had used most of them, good and bad. They had been through so much; definitely not as much as Piper and Leo had, but they had their share of bumps in the road. Through it all, Cole was still the love of her life, and at this moment in time, she was so happy to have him. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Much to Phoebe and Piper’s relief the funeral was over. Neither knew if they could take anymore. Their emotions were drained, but they still had to stand and thank people for coming and let people give their condolences.
Phoebe thought that she recognized this one girl shaking Piper’s hand but couldn’t put a name to the face.
“I’m so sorry for your loss,” the girl said, touching Phoebe’s hand.
Phoebe snapped into a premonition at the touch of her cold, clammy hand. She saw Piper, Prue, and herself looking very shocked. She then saw what they were staring at. It was Piper, Phoebe, and some girl.
Phoebe snapped out of her premonition, looking straight at the girl in her premonition.
“Are you okay? What just happened?” she was asking.
“How did you know Prue?” Phoebe asked, ignoring the question.
“Um…” the girl hesitated. “She was a…friend. Ya a friend,” she decided.
“What’s your name?” Phoebe asked, confused by the whole thing. She was so focused on the girl that she didn’t notice Piper now at her side asking what was wrong.
“I’m Paige. Paige Matthews. But I…uh…gotta go. Again, I’m sorry to the both of you for your loss.”
“But…” Phoebe tried, but Paige was already out the door.
“What the hell just happened?” Piper asked.
“I’m not really sure,” Phoebe said, lost in thought. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Piper and Phoebe entered the attic, leaving Leo and Cole to entertain people for a little bit. Right now there was something bigger to deal with.
“So what happened?” Piper asked as she shut the door.
“Well for starters, for some reason that girl…Paige, looked really familiar. When she touched my hand and gave her condolences, I had a premonition. I saw me, you, and Prue starting at you, me, and… Paige,” Phoebe explained.
“What? How could that be? Was it past or future?” Piper was loaded with questions, but decided that she should let Phoebe answer some before she bombarded her with more.
“I don’t know how it could happen. And I think it was future.”
“Future? So Prue’s back?”
Phoebe took a step toward Piper and put her hand on her shoulder. “I don’t know honey. All I know is what I saw. And what I saw I just told you so I don’t know anymore than you do. Just… don’t get your hopes up, Piper. I don’t want to see you do and then get crushed into more pieces than you already are.”
Piper stood speechless for a moment. She suddenly pulled away from her baby sister and ran out of the door.
“Piper?” Phoebe called after her, but it was no use. The only option now was to follow her.
Phoebe sprinted down the stairs like she had multiple times before. “Piper!” she yelled after her sister. She passed Leo.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
“Can't talk now. Piper on the loose. Be back in a jif,” Phoebe yelled back as she ran out the door. She looked up and down the sidewalk to see Piper figuring out what to do next. As Phoebe got closer, she could see Piper was crying.
“Leo!” Piper yelled, and Leo orbed next to her.
“Piper, honey, what’s the matter?” Leo said as he cupped her face in his strong, masculine hand.
Phoebe stopped in her tracks to see what was going to happen next.
“I need you to go to the Elders and see what they know about a Paige Matthews. Please don’t take forever.”
“Why? Who is she?”
“I don’t know, that’s why I need you to find out.” Leo orbed out. “Thank you. And Phoebe, let’s go see if we can find her.” Piper said wiping her tears, as she walked past Phoebe into the house. Entering the house, she grabbed the phone and headed up to the attic.
“Wait, Piper. What are you doing?” Phoebe said as she let out an exasperated sigh and reluctantly followed her up the stairs. When she got to the attic, Piper had the phone to her ear. “Piper what—“ she started but was cut off by Piper.
“San Francisco… Paige Matthews,” Piper said into the phone. “Thank you.”
“Piper, you can't—“ Phoebe tried again.
“Paige?”
“Yes it is, and who is this?”
“This is Piper Halliwell. We met earlier today at my sister’s fu…” Piper couldn’t even say it.
“Oh. Piper, hi.” She paused, trying to figure out what to tell her. “Not to sound rude, but… what do you want?” Paige was confused. It was weird what happened with Phoebe, and it was weirder now that her sister was calling.
“I just wanted to go out to coffee or something so we could talk. Would that be okay?”
Phoebe was trying to stop Piper, but Piper was ignoring her.
“Sure, name the time and place.” Paige was skeptical, but she wanted to know what was going on.
