This is what the thing from the wake said:
Papa
With the gift of years
Comes the treasure of knowing
That there are many who love you dearly.
The memories you've made with us
Will last forever.
The tenderness you've shared with us
Will never fade.
The most wonderful gift you could ever give
Is the special part of you
That now lives in each of us.
And the truth your love has taught us
Can only be strengthened
By the gift of time...
For where roots grow deep
Memories gorw
Forever.

And here is what I wrote in my diary about the wake and funeral:
On the 26th of June my Great Uncle D i c k passed @ 1:20 pm. He died peacefully in his home. It has been hard on all the family.
The reviewal was last night and I cried when they did the Metro Marine presentation. It was the final salute that really got me.
The funeral was 2day and boy did I cry. My mom was supposed to read Psalm 23 after "Amazing Grace", which was Uncle D i c k s favorite song. My mom couldn't do it, she couldn't read the scripture. So the pastor did it instead. Then my Uncle Craig read Isaiah something. Daniel read the Obituary and he broke down, he's uhm... like I don't know older than me. I didn't look up when he read it, cuz I knew i'd end up cryin'. Then the songs that were all sung were "You Raise Me Up", "Amazing Grace", "The Lords Prayer", "Breathe", and "I Can Only Imagine." Leah my cuz (3rd cuz) wrote a letter to "Papa" (Uncle D i c k) and Peggy (Leah's mom) read it. I broke down when it was read. What else then of course the Meditation. And there was open mic for stories to be told. It was pretty cool. The grandchildren were the casket bearers, Daniel Jindra, Micheal Jindra, Leah Jindra, Ashley Copa, Jennifer Throton, and Nick Throton. The musicians they had were Dennis and Joanie Webster. the Honorary Pallbearers were Minneapolis Metro Marines. Pastor Ben McEachern was the guy who did the meditation and stuff. It was at NorthRidge Fellowship in Rogers. He was buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetary in Minneapolis.
At the reviewal they had Metro Marina stand gaurd at the casket head and foot and switched every 15 minutes. It was a beautiful funeral. Uncle thingy will always be in my heart I'm so gald he doesn't have to suffer through the pain anymore. He is also in a better place. He's with out Savior and he will be missed dearly. I will never forget the man of many memories. As I write these words it rips my heart and tears form in my eyes. And when I look back at this in a few years I will cry. Well I guess that's all for now.
Uncle D i c k I love you and I will never forget you.
